Having spent six nights in Mewar as the guests of HH Maharana of Udaipur – Sriji - at two of his hotels, one a palace and heritage therefore it was a real pleasure to write about the history of this region of Rajasthan steeped in history of nobility and chivalry.

I love Rajasthan and was so glad to be back in Udaipur the city of the lakes, but also to explore and discover the great Kumbhalgarh Fort which had been home to the Mewar dynasty at one time. This fort is immense and its walls only second to the Great Wall of China, but the heroism of its people is what impresses most.

Do read my article which appeared in We Blog the World travel website and also in India Link International magazine and now HH Maharana instructed it be used on their own Eternal Mewar blog.
